Thailand border crossings: maps, status and hours

Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia and Myanmar: check the route, both sides and the clock.

Thailand border crossings combine immigration rules, opening hours, transport availability and local restrictions. This directory separates confirmed closure notices from published operating schedules and places where current foreign-passport access cannot be verified. Open the country guide for named checkpoints, location maps, applicable hours and direct official-source links.

Thailand Laos border crossings

Fourteen official-directory entries, mapped locations and published immigration hours.

Thailand Malaysia border crossings

Road, rail and sea routes, with both countries’ time zones kept clear.

Thailand Cambodia border crossings: closed

Land crossings remain suspended: mapped locations, closure information and alternatives.

Thailand Myanmar border crossings

Current e-Visa entry rules, restricted routes and the difference between trade and tourist access.
Use the country guides for individual mapped crossings and status notes. A map marker alone does not establish permission to enter.

Status checked 21 October 2026

Cambodia: land crossings are suspended in current government travel advice. Laos: the official immigration directory lists international checkpoints and schedules, but some Thai counterparts are explicitly not international. Malaysia: passenger crossings have published hours, with a one-hour time difference. Myanmar: current tourist e-Visa guidance lists Kawthaung among land checkpoints; other routes require individual verification.

How to read the status labels

Closed means an explicit suspension or closure is reported by the cited authority. Scheduled service means an authority publishes a checkpoint and operating hours; it is not a live confirmation that both gates are processing your passport today. Restricted or unconfirmed means ordinary international passenger access has not been established. Cargo access, a local border pass and tourist passport entry are different permissions.

Thailand border crossings and local time

All Thai-side hours on these pages use ICT, UTC+7. Laos and Cambodia use the same time. Malaysia is one hour ahead of Thailand; midnight in Malaysia is 23:00 in Thailand. Myanmar is 30 minutes behind Thailand. Published gate hours do not guarantee the last bus, boat, train or check-in time. Complete both immigration procedures well before closing.

Use the map to identify the crossing

Each checkpoint section has an editable native map and a separate link to open the location in Google Maps. Markers identify the named crossing or the official directory’s mapped area; they are orientation aids, not evidence of an open gate. Use signed public access roads and the designated passenger terminal. Do not substitute an informal river crossing for immigration clearance.

Before booking a border journey

Check your Thai visa or exemption, the other country’s admission rules and whether the actual checkpoint accepts your passport and visa format. Confirm opening hours with both sides and transport with the carrier. Travelling with a car, motorcycle or bicycle adds customs and vehicle-permission questions. A rental agreement alone may not authorise taking the vehicle abroad.

A closed crossing is not a visa-extension plan

Do not rely on a border run as a guaranteed way to remain in Thailand. Immigration decides each admission, and an available foreign visa does not override a closed border. Apply for an eligible extension before your current permission expires or make a lawful departure using a confirmed route. Check the visa and arrival guides alongside these maps.
