Thailand buses and minivans

Find the right coach, fare, departure and terminal.

Thailand buses connect major cities, regional towns, airports and places beyond the rail network. Coaches suit longer journeys; minivans can be useful for shorter regional transfers. Start with the actual boarding point and service class, then compare the current schedule and the total cost including luggage and the final local transfer.

Published airport coach prices and departures

Checked 21 October 2026: Roong Reuang Coach lists Suvarnabhumi Airport–North Pattaya Bus Terminal at THB135 per seat, with a planned journey of about two hours depending on traffic. Outbound departures shown are 07:30, 09:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30, 17:30 and 18:30. Arrive at the boarding point at least 15 minutes before departure, as requested by the operator.
The separate Suvarnabhumi–Hua Hin route page lists THB361 per seat and about four hours. The operator homepage instead displays a starting price of THB381. Because those official pages disagree, use the booking result to confirm the payable Hua Hin fare. The route page shows airport departures including 06:30, 09:30, 12:00, 14:30 and 18:30; open the complete timetable before choosing.

Northern routes and GreenBus timetable

GreenBus publishes a Chiang Mai–Chiang Rai timetable updated 15 August 2026. Selected daily departures from Chiang Mai are 07:00, 08:45, 11:00, 13:30, 17:00 and 18:30. These are examples from the published table, not the full list. The table also distinguishes additional services operating only on specified weekdays.
Use the exact terminal and service class in the booking. GreenBus links from its official website to FairFair for ticket purchases. Confirm the fare, arrival terminal and available service on the travel date; this guide does not substitute an old third-party fare for a current operator quote.

Main intercity coach services

The Transport Company, also called BKS or Bor Kor Sor, is a starting point for national coach information. Nakhonchai Air and Sombat Tour provide their own route searches, service classes and booking conditions. Compare the operator, seat layout, departure time and arrival point rather than treating every VIP label as the same product.
Private operators may use their own terminals. Nakhonchai Air’s booking lists should be checked for the specific branch and pickup point, while Sombat Tour warns that some Bangkok pickup arrangements are seasonal or non-daily. Save the map pin printed in the booking and ask the operator if the location is unclear.

Bangkok coach terminals: avoid the wrong station

Mo Chit 2, Ekkamai and Sai Tai Mai are distinct terminals. Which one you need depends on the service you book. A BTS or MRT station with a familiar name may still need a separate road or walking connection to the coach terminal.
The map below locates Mo Chit 2 for orientation. It is not a universal departure point for every northern coach. Check the operator ticket first, then allow time to find the counter or platform and deal with baggage. For an airport coach, follow the operator’s current airport floor and gate instructions.

Minivans, luggage and late arrivals

Before choosing a minivan, ask about luggage space, whether a large bag needs an extra seat, and whether the quoted destination is a town terminal or a hotel drop-off. Confirm whether departure is a fixed booked time or depends on loading. Keep the fare and pickup confirmation in writing.
For an overnight coach, check the arrival date and arrange access to your accommodation. Road times depend on traffic and stops. Leave a generous connection to a separately booked flight or ferry, and have a local transport option for reaching the hotel after the final coach stop.
