Thailand Laos border crossings include road bridges, land posts, river points and the international rail connection. The 14 entries below follow the Lao Immigration directory checked on 21 October 2026. Hours are published operating schedules in ICT, shared by Thailand and Laos, not live confirmation of passenger processing or guaranteed transport.

Check visa acceptance before choosing the crossing
The Lao checkpoint directory displays generic visa icons, including at points not listed by the Lao e-Visa portal. Use the e-Visa portal’s current designated-port list for e-Visa acceptance and obtain checkpoint confirmation for any other visa format. The official directory explicitly marks two Thai counterpart points as not international. Those are restricted or unconfirmed for ordinary tourist passport travel here.
Arrival forms, rail and the final transfer
Check the Lao Digital Immigration Form requirements through the official Lao immigration service, as well as TDAC for any later arrival in Thailand. A bridge’s gate schedule is not the shuttle timetable. A station’s immigration office hours are not a ticket or a guarantee of international rail service. Match each booking to the actual checkpoint and ask the operator about the last check-in.
Nong Khai — Friendship Bridge I
Location: Nong Khai / Hadsayfong, Vientiane Capital
Hours: 06:00–22:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Main road bridge; the rail process is a separate entry below.
Mukdahan — Friendship Bridge II
Location: Mukdahan / Kaysone Phomvihane, Savannakhet
Hours: 06:00–22:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Road bridge; confirm the cross-bridge transport and last departure.
Nakhon Phanom — Friendship Bridge III
Location: Nakhon Phanom / Thakhek, Khammouane
Hours: 06:00–22:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. A checkpoint listing does not establish Lao e-Visa acceptance.
Chiang Khong — Friendship Bridge IV
Location: Chiang Rai / Houayxay, Bokeo
Hours: 06:00–22:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Use the international bridge, not an assumed old town-centre boat route.
Golden Triangle — Tonpheung
Location: Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai / Tonpheung, Bokeo
Hours: 06:00–20:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. River crossing; boat availability and foreign-passport clearance must be checked separately.
Tha Li / Ban Na Kraseng — Namheuang
Location: Loei / Kenethao, Xayabouly
Hours: 07:00–18:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Confirm your Lao visa format directly; the directory’s visa icons are not a substitute for the e-Visa portal’s accepted-port list.
Huai Kon — Nam Ngeun
Location: Chaloem Phra Kiat, Nan / Ngeun, Xayabouly
Hours: 08:00–20:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Road crossing; check admission and onward transport before travelling to this remote route.
Phu Du — Phou Dou
Location: Ban Khok, Uttaradit / Paklay, Xayabouly
Hours: 06:00–20:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Remote road crossing; confirm ordinary foreign-passport access and visa requirements.
Ban Huak — Pang Mon
Location: Phu Sang, Phayao / Khob, Xayabouly
Hours: 06:00–18:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Confirm passport eligibility and onward transport; do not assume Visa on Arrival from the directory’s generic icon.
Bueng Kan — Friendship Bridge V
Location: Bueng Kan / Paksan, Bolikhamxay
Hours: 06:00–22:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. The directory lists the fifth bridge; do not use an old ferry departure point as a substitute.
Chong Mek — Vang Tao
Location: Sirindhorn, Ubon Ratchathani / Phonthong, Champasak
Hours: 06:00–20:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. Land crossing towards Pakse; check onward transport and the visa format accepted.
Ban Khok Phai — Ban Vang
Location: Pak Chom, Loei / Muen, Vientiane Province
Hours: 08:00–17:30 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Restricted or unconfirmed: the Lao directory explicitly labels the Thai counterpart not international. Do not plan ordinary tourist passport entry without written checkpoint confirmation.
Pak Saeng — Pak Taphan
Location: Thai Pak Saeng crossing / Lakhonpheng, Salavan
Hours: 08:00–17:00 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Restricted or unconfirmed: the directory labels the Thai counterpart not international. Its descriptive geography is inconsistent; use the authority’s map and confirm the location before travel.
Nong Khai rail — Khamsavath station
Location: Nong Khai / Khamsavath, Vientiane Capital
Hours: 08:30–18:30 ICT / Laos local time
Status and access: Scheduled service in the official Lao directory; same-day processing and your visa format must be confirmed. The published immigration window is not a train timetable. Check the booked train and Lao visa acceptance for Khamsavath specifically.
Confirm both sides before departure
Contact the responsible immigration checkpoint with your nationality, visa type, intended direction and travel date. Ask whether foreign-passport passengers are being processed, what time passport clearance stops and which transport is operating. An open cargo lane, a local border pass or a map listing does not answer those questions.
